A Host of New Singaporean Films, TV Series and Documentaries Makes Their Way to Netflix in August1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteStreaming service Netflix will be adding 28 local titles progressively from 4 to 9 August, with a lineup that includes award-winning films, television series, and documentaries.
The month-long celebration will kick off with two hard-to-track-down local films, Han Yew Kwang’s rom-com When Hainan Meets Teochew, Derrick Lui’s anthology film 1400 and Max Makowski’s crime thriller One Last Dance. Fans of period dramas will also be in for a treat with critically-acclaimed television series Titoudao and Last Madame, while Forensik will satiate those in the mood for mystery.
Recently making waves with his Golden Horse Award-nominated film Number 1, Netflix subscribers can check out director Ong Kuo Sin’s previous works Judgement Day and Mr Unbelievable across National Day weekend in anticipation of his next film, Reunion Dinner, slated for Chinese New Year 2022. The weekend will also see the premiere of box office hit The Diam Diam Era Part 2 on the streaming service. National Day will be marked with the release of Anthony Chen’s award-winning drama Wet Season, Tan Pin Pin’s celebrated documentary Singapore GaGa and adult animated comedy series Downstairs.
