A Korean Adaptation of ‘Money Heist’ Is in the Works1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteA South Korean adaptation of the popular Netflix Spanish drama, Money Heist (also known as La Casa De Papel), is currently underway.
Netflix announced today (December 1) that director Kim Hong-Sun, whose previous works include fantasy-thrillers such as Black and The Guest, is set to helm the project. Kim will reunite with Liar Game screenwriter, Ryu Yong-Jae, who also wrote the scripts for the Netflix series My Holo Love and tvN’s Psychopath Diary.
In a press statement, Money Heist creator and executive producer Álex Pina expressed his excitement over the Korean remake. “Korean creators have been developing their own language and audiovisual culture for years,” he said. “They have managed, like our series, to go beyond cultural borders and become a point of reference for thousands of viewers around the world, especially among young people.”
