Singapore TV Series ‘Last Madame’ Wins Award at Busan International Film Festival Event1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteSingapore TV series Last Madame, starring Joanne Peh, was awarded best Asian drama on Sunday (Oct 25) at this year’s Asia Contents Awards that runs under the Busan International Film Festival’s Asian Contents and Film Markets event.
The show’s leading actress, Peh, posted a message on Instagram on Sunday night to congratulate the team behind the show.
She wrote: “Good news! We won we won — Last Madame is Best Asian Drama at Asia Contents Awards!! It’s been a year and I’m most grateful for having met and worked with the wonderful cast and dedicated crew of Last Madame. Congratulations @ochrepictures, thank you for bringing all of us together.”
Peh played the role of the owner and mamasan of a high-end brothel set in 1930s Singapore in the Toggle series. She also had a steamy love scene opposite Taiwanese actor Jeff Chou, who played a police inspector.
Last Madame’s best Asian drama win is shared with Korea’s When The Camellia Blooms, which stars Gong Hyo-jin and Kang Ha-neul.
