The Singapore Mental Health Film Festival has launched the 2021 edition of its Short Film Youth Competition, inviting youths in SIngapore to produce a short film on mental health/dementia and ignite change through their stories.

To qualify for the competition:
– Youths must be between the ages of 15 to 35 years old
– Stories must focus on at least one fo the five topics (Cyber-Bullying & Trauma, Life Transitions, Young Caregivers, Recovery and Suicide Prevention)
– Attend at least one film production workshop and at least two mental health/dementia workshops

The top three winning films will win cast prizes up to S$3000. The Best Overall Short Film will be screened at the next edition of the Singapore Mental Health Film Festival slated for May 2021 at the National Gallery Singapore. It will also be screened at the New York City Mental Health Film Festival (New York, USA) and Rendezvous with Madness Festival (Toronto, Canada).

Registration for the competition ends on 30 November 2020.
