Reading Time: < 1 minuteTaapsee Pannu-starrer Thappad has now bagged two nominations at the 14th Asian Film Awards. Thappad with its hard-hitting content was well received by the audience worldwide and triggered a conversation on domestic violence among its viewers. Now, at Asian Film Awards in Busan, South Korea it has been nominated in the ‘Best Film’ and ‘Best Editing’ categories and is contending with South Korean award-winning film Parasite. Thappad is one among the 39 films from 11 countries which have been nominated for the awards.
Anubhav Sinha, the director of the film informed, “When I was making Thappad, it didn’t occur to me that it will have such a universal appeal. It only came to my notice when I connected with my non-Indian friends, who hail from countries like Germany, Taiwan, Malaysia and America. They saw the film and connected with it,” TOI reported.
