Under the initiative called “Lockdown Cinema Club: Films for a Cause,” the group aims to raise a minimum of P2 million to help provide financial assistance to at least 1,000 low-income film workers affected by the temporary stoppage of film production as a result of the ongoing monthlong community quarantine in Luzon.
The club has collected a total of P631,871.89 as of 12 noon of March 23, said Ang, who is also a film producer.
As an incentive, donors will be able to watch some 50 short films from directors like Jerrold Tarog, Lawrence Fajardo, Erik Matti, Antoinette Jadaone, Gino Santos, Quark Henares, Petersen Vargas and Samantha Lee.
