CALL FOR ENTRIES: Taipei Film Festival 2020 International New Talent Competition1 min read

As one of the main competitions of the Taipei Film Festival, the International New Talent Competition aims to encourage talented and emerging filmmakers who have recently completed their first or second features, and to provide a platform for new voices from all over the world.

Films eligible for participation in the International New Talent Competition must be:
– A director’s first or second feature. Must have minimum length of 70 minutes and be available as 35mm print or DCP
– Premiered after April 2rd, 2019
– Taiwan premiere (except Taiwan productions)

Awards:

Grand Prize – NT$ 600,000 plus one trophy (approx. SGD27,000)
Special Jury Prize – NT$ 300,000 plus one trophy (approx. SGD13,500)
Audience Choice Award – one trophy
Taiwan Film Critics Association Award- one certificate

*A 20% tax will be deducted from the prize money should the recipient does not hold Taiwan ID card or residential status, and a 10% tax deduction from Taiwanese award winner.
