METUB WebTVAsia Awards Celebrates Multimedia Talents from the Region3 min read
Reading Time: 3 minutesTaking place on 5 December at Ho Chi Minh City and attended by 600 high profile guests from across Asia, the METUB WebTVAsia Awards was live-streamed on the official WebTVAsia and METUB Network YouTube channels and Facebook pages, reaching more than 126 million subscribers globally.
With this year’s theme being Celebrate Asia: Rise of Vietnam, a selection of award categories were reserved exclusively for talent from the host country to take centre stage.
Among them, homegrown starlet, Chi Pu headlined with a performance of her hits Đoá Hoa Hồng (Queen) and Anh Ơi Ở Lại. The video for the latter earned her the METUB WebTVAsia Best Concept Music Video award with over 77 million views.
Notable appearances included Taiwan-based Canadian emcee, Chris Downs, who rose to stardom after appearing in the popular Chinese game show “Where’s My Dad?”. Chris stepped on stage with Huyền My to present the METUB WebTVAsia Beauty Icon of the Year award to Vietnamese stunner An Phương and METUB WebTVAsia Fashion Icon of the Year award to Chau Bui. Chris Downs also presented the METUB WebTVAsia Family and Kids Channel of the Year award to Gia Đình Cam Cam.
Vietnam’s Pop Princess, Min also presented the following awards; METUB WebTVAsia Lifestyle & Fitness Icon of the Year award to Fabo Nguyen; METUB WebTVAsia Streamer Icon of the Year award to Ba Rọi Béo, as well as METUB WebTVAsia Foodie Icon of the Year award to Woossi, whose channel Woossi TV reached 1.5 million subscribers in just 3 years.
METUB WebTVAsia Outstanding Celebrity Star on YouTube award went to Tran Thanh. Tran Thanh started the year on a strong foot with video, Ninh Dương Lan Ngọc ăn nhiều quá bung luôn nút quần khi quay CUA LẠI VỢ BẦU phim tết 2019 cùng A Xìn, receiving over 7 million views.

METUB WebTAsia Viral Music Video of the Year award went to Hoàng Thuỳ Linh for hit song Để Mị Nói Cho Mà Nghe, which exceeded 85 million views. METUB WebTVAsia Most Popular Creator of The Year award was awarded to Hậu Hoàng whose official channel Oh Mah Shock grew to over 1 billion total views this year.
International winners included K-Pop superstar J-Hope of BTS fame, claiming Viral Video of the year for Chicken Noodle Soup (feat. Becky G), after amassing a whopping 113 million views in just over 2 months. Channel of the Year was presented to foodie creator 李子柒 Liziqi from China, whose tasty content attracted 7.29M subscribers and 944 million views.
Other performance highlights include a duo between Korea’s YOUNG JAE and Malaysia’s Priscilla Abby, which embraced the WebTVAsia Celebrate Asia theme; showcasing the magic that’s possible when artists collaborate regionally. Ranz and Niana also performed a dance medley with their younger sister Natalia.
