In fact, this year’s fest will have “Robots: Future Beyond the Human Race”, a program devoted to classic sci-fi titles such as Blade Runner, Westworld, Forbidden Planet, Weird Sciene, and more. The festival will open with Edgar Nito’s The Gasoline Thieves, an award-winning film from this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, while Ko Myoungsung’s The 12th Suspect will be the closing film.
This year, the festival will run a couple of weeks earlier than normal, taking place June 27 through July 7. With 288 films this year (170 features, 118 shorts), BIFAN will be home to 22 feature-length World Premieres, 27 feature-length International Premieres, and 50 feature-length Asian Premieres.
