Reading Time: 2 minutesIn the Spotlight today is the 11th Annual Burbank International Film Festival (BIFF), taking place for five days in “The Media Capital of the World”. The grandeur of Burbank’s skyline is comprised of the world’s most prestigious studios and production houses which include Warner Brothers, Marvel Entertainment, Disney, Universal Studios, Fox, ABC, The Burbank Studios, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network to name just a few.
The celebration kicks off with the highly anticipated Opening Night Ceremony with a premiere featured film and Gala Reception and will be followed by four days of film screenings, parties and red carpet events that will culminate with a Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony on the final day of the Festival. Last year, the festival screened over 220 films including world premieres – with only eleven years on the circuit BIFF has quickly established itself as an important venue for filmmakers to be discovered.
In addition to premiere screenings and Red Carpet events, The Burbank International Film Festival invites film distributors to review the award-winning films helping independent filmmakers to get their film distributed. BIFF also helps introduce filmmakers to other film festivals on the circuit so that they can continue to screen their film and expand their audience reach. BIFF has over 20 categories that invite a wide range of mediums and genres to submit – categories include Student Films, Animated Films, Screenplays, New Media, Science Fiction/Fantasy/Horror/
