Reading Time: < 1 minuteLocal film maker Eric Khoo was awarded the Golden Cyclo Honorary Award at the Vesoul International Film Festival Of Asian Cinema (Festival international des cinémas d’Asie) in France. From Mee Pok Man, 12 Storeys to Be With Me and Ramen Teh, he is considered as one of the most influential Singaporean artists.
Khoo’s classic films such as Mee Pok Man and 12 Storeys have together been screened at over 60 film festivals and held all over the world including Ivy League festivals such as Venice, Berlin and Rotterdam. The Golden Cyclo Honorary Award is given to directors with outstanding careers and achievements.
The Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema (FICA) is an annual special-interest film festival focusing on the cinemas of Asia. Held annually in Vesoul, France, it was founded in 1995 by Martine and Jean-Marc Thérouanne who have been co-directing the festival since then.
The 25th FICA was held from the 5th of February to the 12th of February this year. The festival’s purpose is to present & promote the cinema of Asian territories, enhance intercultural dialogue and encourage the discovery of other cultures through cinema. It also hopes to promote its host city of Vesoul, the department of Haute-Saône and the Franche-Comté region.
