Meet the Cheaper, New, and Improved SmallHD Studio Production Monitors1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteSmallHD announced their HDR production monitors at NAB earlier this year; now, they have announced “Studio” editions of both the 17-inch and 24-inch sizes. These are just as durable and have the same high-end software capability, resolution, and colour accuracy as their HDR counterparts.
The two main differences are that these new 1080p production monitors are designed for controlled lighting environments and they are significantly less expensive than the ultra-bright models we saw at NAB. The 1703 Studio and 2403 Studio models come in at US$2999 and US$3499 respectively, and both share the same array of custom accessories as their HDR versions. Every monitor housing is milled from billet aluminium and holds a 3mm thick polycarbonate screen protector that is user-replaceable. The RapidRail Shoe Mount System enables quick mounting and powering of third party accessories, making wireless setups particularly easy.
