SmallHD is Introducing New Budget 7″ Monitors: 701 Lite & 702 Lite1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteSmallHD has been on a roll as of late introducing 1080p monitors, with the 501, 502, and 702 Bright. This time, however, they’ve gone with a lower-than-1080p resolution to bring the price way down. The panels on the 701 Lite and 702 Lite will be 1280 x 800, and though that may be disappointing from a resolution standpoint, if it’s the same panel as the one used on the DP7 (it seems like it might be), it will be plenty good for focusing, and should be fine for colour. From a software standpoint, these look to share the same 3D LUTs and custom pages as the 702 Bright.
Though these have not been officially announced yet, the specs and features are out, as are some link placeholders (701, 702) on B&H that have since been removed. The new monitors will come in at US$700 and US$900, which is quite a difference compared to the $1,500 702 Bright, which is designed to be used in harsh sunlight.
