Meet YoCam, the ‘Smallest Waterproof Camera’ That Shoots 2.7K at 30P1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteGoPro has dominated the action cam market pretty much ever since it launched, but the folks at Mofily have introduced YoCam, a tiny waterproof camera that gives the GoPro Session a run for its money.
The YoCam, which has raised nearly US$400,000 on Kickstarter, surpassing their initial US$80,000 goal by over 478%, has a bunch of useful features: it’s small, light, shoots 2.7K at 30p, has remote connectivity, and contains MoSteady image stabilisation.
Features
2.7K/30fps, 1080p/60fps, 720p/120fps
Waterproof at up to 20ft.
140-degree field of view
P2P remote connection
MoSteady stabilisations
HDR imaging
WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0
One-Click photo book
US$200 (MSRP)
The YoCam has the Session beat with a few features, namely image resolution and aperture, but I think the big selling points that they’re trying to highlight are that the it is 1.) small, 2.) waterproof, and 3.) the same price of a comparable GoPro product. (The “pricing mistake” of the Session is one reason GoPro gave for cutting 7% of their workforce.) I mean, the Session is small and waterproof, but it only shoots 1440p at 30fps. And the Hero4 is small and shoots 4K, but it’s over twice the price.
