The Reel Shorts Film Festival is a celebration of excellent short films and the filmmakers behind those films from all over the world and across Canada. It will be held from May 10 to May 15, 2016 in Grande Prairie, Alberta it is now open for submission.

The festival welcomes short film works from all around the world that are under 40-minute long and produced after January 1, 2014. Filmmakers must hold the rights to all copyrighted materials used in the films.

The Awards include Best Live Action Short, Best Animated Short, and Best Documentary Short. There is also an Audience Choice Award and a Youth Audience Choice Award.

Submission is free and closes on 14 December, 2015.
