Call for Entries: KuanDu International Animation Festival (KDIAF)2 min read
Reading Time: 2 minutesKuanDu’s International Animation Festival (KDIAF) is now calling for entries! Organized by the Department of Animation, Taipai National University of Arts, KDIAF 2015 will take place in October 2015 in Taipei and other cities in Taiwan. Any audiovisual animated works under 30 minutes and created frame by frame are eligible for entry. There are no restriction of techniques or genres. However only works completed after January 1, 2014 and never previously submitted to KDIAF will be accepted. The festival also welcomes commercial productions for submission.
The KuanDog Awards Categories are as follows:
1. Best International Animated Short Film: US$2,000 cash prize and the KuanDog Trophy
Eligibility: All productions are eligible to enter this category. Student productions can opt to enter either this category or Best Student Film category; however, each film can only be entered for one category.
2. Best Student Film: US$1,500 cash prize and the KuanDog Trophy
Eligibility: A film that was produced while the filmmaker(s) attend educational institutions under instructors’ supervision.
3. Taiwanese Film Special Award: US$1,500 cash prize and the KuanDog Trophy
Eligibility: All films entered in either category above that are/were produced by Taiwanese Filmmaker(s) can be considered for this award. To be eligible for Taiwan Special Award, the producer or director of the selected film may be required to provide proof of citizenship.
4. Honourable Mention: Award Certificates
Eligibility: All films entered in all above categories can be considered for this award. There may be more than one film being awarded this honour.
The jury could also opt to give specific titles to each Honorable Mention Award recipient, such as Excellence in Commercial Production, Excellence in Character Design, Excellence in Art Direction, etc. The jury will decide which of the winning entries are to be presented for the Festival’s Award Ceremony.
There is no entry fee to enter the competition. Submissions will close on July 1, 2015.
