Reading Time: < 1 minuteSGIFF’s Youth Jury & Critics Programme 2015, led by UK-based film academic and curator, May Adadol Ingawanij, is a workshop that seeks to nurture new critical writers on cinema from the Southeast Asia region.
The expected intake for the workshop is 12 to 15 post-secondary students based in Singapore, and it will take place on Saturday each week from 31st October, as well as 28th and 29th November 2015.
Participants will learn about the historical and cultural significance of Southeast Asian cinema, how film theory and close readings of film greatly benefit film writing for a wider audience, as well as different interviewing approaches.
Participants will cover works in competition in the Southeast Asian Film Competition on a live film journal to be featured on the festival’s website.
In the last leg of the programme, the Youth Jury will also vote on the Youth Jury Prize-winning film during the Silver Screen Awards.
