Senator Lapid eyes big return to action filmmaking1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteInspired by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s return to the big screen, Sen. Lito Lapid now dreams of initiating a film festival dedicated solely to action films.
Take note, he would invite only action stars of a certain age. The guests of honors would be Philip Salvador, Ronnie Rickets, Cesar Montaño and Senate colleagues Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada.
“‘Di bale nang mawala ako sa pulitika, huwag lang akong mawala sa showbiz (It’s okay if I fade from politics, but not from showbiz),” Lapid told a group of Senate reporters.
The senator said he has been longing to revive “Leon Guerrero,” a horse-riding local Robin Hood who merited a box office hit and at least two sequels at the tills.
“I choose this character because he wears a mask. It’s good for hiding wrinkles,” said Lapid, now 56.
