Reading Time: < 1 minuteSINGAPOREANS have taken to making short film clips and posting them on YouTube in a bid to show their love for the nation.
The latest clip to gain popularity tracks a youth running through the streets of Singapore. It has garnered over 26,000 views since it was posted online on Aug 7 – two days before National Day.
Titled ProjectRunThruSingapore, the seven-minute clip took eight months to produce, with a crew of 12 roving between 130 locations islandwide, as well as on Pulau Ubin.
Produced by SteadiProductions, a video-making interest group of the Telok Blangah Community Centre Youth Club, the film was spearheaded by two friends, undergraduates Jason Ye and Tan Ying Quan, both 21, who wanted to showcase the best of Singapore to the rest of the world.
“Singapore is a beautiful place, but no one has attempted to capture all of that in a single video,” said Mr Ye, the director of the project.
So the youths set off to do just that, armed with a digital camera and a camera stabiliser.
