Film fest on Mother Teresa begins1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteMother Teresa International Film Festival (MTIFF)-2011 began here on Friday at Patna Women’s College with the screening of ‘Madre Teresa’, a Golden Globe winner, Olivia Hussey starrer epic from Italy. The festival is being held simultaneously at the city’s various educational and cultural institutions, and will conclude on September 5.
Bihar assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary, who was the chief guest on this occasion, appreciated the initiative of MTIFF and said, “Such movies should be screened in rural areas too. This would help in the character building of young generation and make them realize their responsibilities towards the society.”
As many as 12 films on Mother Teresa from seven countries would be screened here at various places. It includes ‘In the Name of God’s Poor’ (USA), starring Geraldine Chaplin (daughter of Charlie Chaplin), ‘Precious Love’ (USA) and ‘Revelation of Kolkata’ (France), a film about three people inspired by the Mother to do great works.
It also includes ‘The Fifth World’ (Spain) – the first-ever animation film on Mother Teresa – and another animation movie for school kids – ‘Seeing the Face of Jesus’ (USA).
