Key industry players to join SIFF animation symposium1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteThis year, The 24th Singapore International Film Festival (SIFF) will hold an animation symposium for the first time. Michael Lim, who curated the animation segment of SIFF, helped organize the two-hour discussion, which will take place at LASALLE College of the Arts on 24 September.
The symposium will feature a slate of key industry players including Nathan McGuinness from Double Negative, Mike Wiluan from Infinite Frameworks, Paul Stevens from Blackmagic Design, Stuart McAra from Industrial Light and Magic (Lucasfilm) Singapore, and K.C. Wong from Sparky Animation.
Philip Stamp from One Animation will moderate the event.
In conjunction with Jim Henson’s 75th birthday, SIFF will also host the Asian premiere of rare and exclusive Muppets footage.
This year’s festival, with the theme “˜Watch Different’, will be screening 144 feature films, up from 87 last year. “[We] want to challenge filmgoers to start exploring films they would not normally consider; hence for them to “˜watch different’,” Geoffrey Malone, chairman and founder of SIFF said in a press statement.
