Homerun, Zonbo partner on slate1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteSingaporean production and distribution entity Homerun Asia (家樂電影) is collaborating with Chinese media firm Zonbo Media (北京ä¸åšä¸–紀影視傳媒有é™å…¬å¸) on a slate of films, the two companies said at ScreenSingapore on Tuesday.
Homerun and Zonbo will invest RMB400-500 million ($61.7-77 million) over the next three years on a slate of five “commercial Asian films”, said Chen Weiming (陳å‰æ˜Ž), chairman of Zonbo Media.
Films include a Chinese remake of Dangerous Liaisons, and 1965, a historical epic based on the events leading up to Singapore’s independence.
Dangerous Liaisons will be directed by Korean film-maker Hur Jin-ho (허진호) on an announced budget of US$15 million. The film starts production in September.
The $5 million 1965 will be directed by Singapore-based Malaysian director Lee Thean Jeen (æŽå¤©ä»), with superstar director Peter Chan (陳å¯è¾›) attached as supervisory director. The film is scheduled to begin shooting by year-end.
