Reading Time: < 1 minuteOne of the youngest and most awarded actors in the country, Coco Martin has proven his acting mettle once more by winning the coveted Natatanging Aktor ng Dekada (2000-2009) given this year by Gawad Urian.
The award recognizes Coco for his “excellence in a decade-long body of work in Philippine cinema among them “˜Masahista,’ “˜Tirador,’ “˜Serbis,’ “˜Jay,’ “˜Kinatay,’ “˜Sa Yo Lamang’ and “˜Noy.’ Veteran actresses namely Cherry Pie Picahe and Gina Pareño are also recipients of the said prestigious award.
He was once an underrated actor who used to appear in sexy films only. It was during his “Tayong Dalawa” stint where he shone the most.
“Isa talaga sa mga gusto ko ay ang makapag-contribute pa sa industriya sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng best ko na deserve ng manonood,” the “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin” star said.
Coco is a self-confessed fan of Filipino films. He enjoys doing mainstream and indie films as he appeared in roughly 22 films in his eight years in showbiz.
