Hollywood Hit Makers Coming to Singapore1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteThe Little Red Dot will soon become the focus of the film world when movie icons such as Tom Hanks, Oliver Stone and Zhang Ziyi descend on the city-state for the first-ever ScreenSingapore cinema event.
Coming right after the Cannes Film Festival, the inaugural edition of ScreenSingapore hopes to establish the city-state as a regional hub of the global film industry. Scheduled for June 5-12, the event aims to bring together filmmakers, producers, industry buyers, sellers, policy makers and creative talents from all over the world to showcase their products, exchange ideas and build networks.
“The Devil Inside Me,” a film by Zhang Qi and starring Tony Leung Ka-Fai and Kelly Lin, has the honor of opening the festival. Also on opening night, veteran director Gordon Chan will present the latest footage from his upcoming action fantasy film, “The Mural.”
Chinese actress Tang Wei, whose groundbreaking debut performance in Ang Lee’s “Lust, Caution” was highly acclaimed by international critics, will also walk the red carpet to present scenes from her upcoming Chinese action drama, “Speed Angel.”
