Assurance on public service broadcast standards1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteTHE abolition of radio and television licence fees will not lead to a dip in the standards of public service broadcast (PSB) programmes, said Mr Sam Tan Chin Siong, the Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Information, Communications and the Arts.
He assured the House that his ministry is, in fact, taking steps to improve PSB content, with a PSB Review Panel formed in October last year.
The panel, chaired by Mr Tan, sought views from the broadcast industry, academia, the Media Development Authority’s (MDA) citizen-based advisory committees and the public.
The panel is expected to share its recommendations by the middle of the year.
