Reading Time: < 1 minuteTHE SEARCH is on for the next CEO of MediaCorp. In a shock announcement on Tuesday, the national broadcaster announced that its chief executive, Mr Lucas Chow, was quitting after five years with the firm.
A MediaCorp spokesman said Mr Chow was not taking interviews, but in an internal email to staff sent at 4pm obtained by The Straits Times, he said ‘it is difficult not to feel a tinge of mixed emotions leaving such a great company, and even greater colleagues… Thank you once again for five exhilarating years together.’
MediaCorp staff from various business units had mixed views about Mr Chow’s departure, although most said they were surprised by his departure.
‘I heard that there would be a organisational announcement today, but I didn’t expect this,’ said a male employee in his 30s who declined to be named as he was not authorised to speak to the media.
