The Singapore Short Film Awards is the only platform that recognizes excellence in short films in Singapore. From February 28 to March 06, 126 films from 55 nominees will be screened.
“Wee Li Lin is one of the leading female filmmakers in Singapore. She has created a unique body of work that stands out for its colorful characters and everyday humor. The stories she brings to the screen feel light and effortless, crafted with an ease that belies the hard work and talent that goes into each and every frame. The award recognizes her outstanding contribution to the short film community and Singapore film industry as a whole and is timely as she premieres her second feature in Singapore in March.” shares Wahyuni A. Hadi, one of the organizers of the Awards.
Li Lin is now gearing up for the Singapore theatrical release of her second feature film, Forever, in major theatres in March this year. As at 1 December 2010, Forever is the first Singaporean film to receive a double world premiere, screening at both the Jakarta and Cairo international film festivals on the same date.
