Tetsuo’s Tsukamoto Makes Anime Short for Film Program1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteOn Thursday, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice began streaming a 24-second animated clip that Japanese cult film director Shinya Tsukamoto created for the Italian university’s Ca’ Foscari Cinema program.
It is Tsukamoto’s first work of animation.
Known by most for his cyberpunk work Tetsuo: The Iron Man and a series of other horror films, Shinya Tsukamoto has a considerable following both domestically and internationally.
The animated short clip displays his trademark theme of body horror. In addition to his directing work, Tsukamoto acted in several projects such as the live-action adaptations of the Ichi the Killer and Sexy Voice and Robo manga.
