Reading Time: < 1 minuteHollywood has the intention to win the Chinese market, but the actuality is not yet now, Richard L.Anderson, an Oscar winner in sound effect, told Xinhua in a recent interview.
Asked to comment on the prospect of Hollywood’s movies in China, Anderson said Hollywood producers obviously have realized the importance of the Chinese market.
However, he added that films with a Chinese production company involved are considered domestic Chinese production and can get around this limitation, so Hollywood companies try to partner with Chinese companies to qualify for theatrical distribution.
“I’ve read that China will lift this quota next year, which is good news for the U.S.. Hollywood would love to sell their products in China if the government will permit it,” said Anderson.
