China firms order digital equipment in bulk1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteUS-based cinema equipment provider Ballantyne Strong Inc. has secured orders to supply 250 digital cinema projection systems to two Chinese groups.
The deals underline the scale of growth of the Chinese cinema industry.
It will provide 150 NEC digital cinema projection systems to Beijing Yida Jiuzhou Film, a newly launched exhibition company and a further 100 projection systems to The Jinyi Group.
“Our Asian digital cinema business continues to thrive as Chinese theatre exhibitors move aggressively to both convert existing theaters to digital as well as to expand cinema penetration across the country,” said Gary L. Cavey, President and CEO of Ballantyne.
