Korean Film Director Makes Movie on IPhone1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minutePark Chan-wook, one of Korea’s best-known movie directors, today screened a 30-minute short film shot entirely on an iPhone.
This makes him one of the first cinematic auteurs to embrace mobile technology as a new medium.
The production received assistance from South Korean wireless operator KT Corp., which is the exclusive distributor of iPhone in South Korea. KT provided a portion of the $130,000 production budget.
“From hunting for a film location, shooting auditions, to doing a documentary on the filming process, everything was shot with the iPhone 4,” Park said. “We went through all the same film-making processes except that the camera was small.”
