Reading Time: < 1 minuteIndia’s Reliance MediaWorks has opened the first phase of its new studios for hire in Mumbai.
It is building a total of eight stages within a 200,000 sq ft complex in the Filmcity area and opened the first three this week. The remaining five will be functional by mid-year.
The facilities company claims that these are the first sound stages in India to be built to Hollywood standards of quietness, ceiling height and truck access and employed a string of US companies to ensure design compliance.
The stages are also connected by fibre optic links to RMW’s post-production facilities in Film City, Anderhi (Mumbai), its animation operation in Pune and its international divisions in the UK and US.
