Reading Time: < 1 minuteCindy Shyu, producer head of Light House Productions, has teamed with Zhao Jun, manager of China Film South Cinema Circuit to prepare what they expect to be the first full India-China co-production of recent times.
Gold Struck‘s below-the-line budget is set at $10 million, with the total set to rise according to talent attachments.
Her Gold Struck is to be directed by Hong Kong-based Tony Cheung and is to feature high-profile name stars from both China and India’s Bollywood. Cheung previously co-directed Taiwan children’s film The Sage Hunter with Shyu.
“Indian companies will be investors, making this a real co-production. But my current priority in India is to get the cast right, rather than settle the distribution,” said Shyu. “I’m looking for Bollywood stars of the kind that appeal to young Chinese audiences.”
