Reading Time: < 1 minuteThe inaugural edition of the Beijing International Film Festival will be hosted from 23-28 April 2011 in China’s capital.
The Beijing International Film Festival is co-organised by Beijing Municipal Government and the State Administration of Radio, Film & Television.
The ambitious film week plans to host a red carpet ceremony, industry forums, a trade show, a project market, three music concerts and public screenings of both local and foreign films.
Its stated aim is to “build Beijing into a global city and capital of film in the East” and act as “an important platform for Beijing’s film industry to reach out to the world.” City officials noted that whilst the capital has hosted the Olympic Games, it has no major film event.
