IFFI “˜film bazaar’ for co-production, tourism promotion1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteA ‘film bazaar’, inaugurated on the sidelines of IFFI, is attracting some big market players looking for co-production deals with Indian filmmakers and the tourism industry.
The fourth edition of the bazaar, organised by National Film Development Corporation Ltd (NFDC), saw international buyers and sales agents like Fortissimo Films (UK), Rapid Eye Movies (Germany) and Railto (Netherland) participating.
Johannes Koeck, head of Cine Tirol Film Commission Austria, said Indian film shoots in his country have seen a 100 per cent tourist increase. It also saw the participation of independent filmmakers from India like Onir, Praveen Dabbas and Aamir Bashir among others.
“Indian films are the cheapest way of promoting a country’s tourism. From the very first film we have noticed that Indian movies help increase the number of tourists coming from your country to almost 100 per cent, which is a huge number for us,” said Johannes Koeck, head of Cine Tirol Film Commission Austria.
