Troubled Jakarta festival to go ahead1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteThe troubled Jakarta Film Festival (JIFFest) is to go ahead after a last minute fund raising exercise saved it from being scrapped this year.
It will run 26 Nov-5 Dec at the Blitz Megaplex Pacific Place, Kineforum and Binus International University.
Meanwhile, the unrelated Indonesia International Fantastic Film Festival will be run for the fourth time later this month.
JIFFest organising committee said that phone manufacturer Nokia has agreed to “˜present’ this year’s event. It said that the appeal for funds from the public and friends had raised IDR200 million ($22,000), which will be used partly for this year’s events and also to get a head start on next year’s festival.
