‘Winter’s Bone’ to Compete for New Gotham Award1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteDebra Granik’s Winter’s Bone, which is up for three awards at the upcoming Gotham Independent Film Awards, will also compete for a new award that will be handed out at the awards event on Nov 29.
Additional contenders for the Festival Genius Award is “Waiting for Superman,” “White Irish Drinkers,” “9000 Needles” and “Brotherhood.”
Called the Festival Genius Award, the new prize was announced Tuesday by the Independent Filmmaker Project, which conducts the Gothams, and Slated, which owns the Festival Genius technology used in film festivals’ online guides.
Indie films that have won awards at the top film festivals in the United States and Canada will compete for the new prize.
