His name rang in echoes: “Mitr! Mitr!” An elderly woman told the Bangkok Post reporter, “I don’t believe it. Mitr can’t die.”
The film, Red Eagle, starring Ananda Everingham as the eponymous masked hero, was recently released to mark the 40th anniversary of Mitr Chaibancha Siam’s death.
Unfortunately, the stylish film didn’t do well at the box office, which makes it likely that the Red Eagle character will disappear from the Thai cinema screen.
