Reading Time: 2 minutesAsian Hot Shots Berlin (AHSB) is a newly established festival on the calendar that showcases a wide range of works from across Asia. Into its second year running, it aims to offer an alternative insight into Asian cinema, providing a forum for dialogue and cultural exchange between German and Asian filmmakers.
Awards will be given in two categories (best feature and short film), decided by audience voting.
AHSB is in cooperation with The Substation and Sinema.SG once again to bring the Singaporean entries to Berlin. Last year, eighteen Singaporean films were featured in total, including works by Victric Thng (“Locust”), Boo Junfeng (“Katong Fugue”), Nicholas Chee (“Becoming Royston”), Daphne Tan (“Man with Camera”), Jacen Tan (“Zo Gang”), Kirsten Tan (“Fonzi”), Joshua Lim (“The Olive Depression”), among many others. “Fonzi” and “The Olive Depression” were in competition for the Best Short Film Award and Best Feature Film Award respectively.
We are now accepting entries for the 2nd Asian Hot Shots Berlin for recent Singapore short films, feature films, video art and installations completed in either 2007 or 2008.
Please submit two screeners together with a completed submission form, agreement to the terms and conditions. All entries must be sent to the Substation’s office located at 45 Armenian Street Singapore, 179936.
Screening formats accepted are: Betacam (SP) PAL, DVD, miniDV (PAL), 35mm and 16mm.
Deadline for submission: 1st October 2008, noon.
