Reading Time: < 1 minuteSingapore’s Cathay Organisation have teamed up with Dubai’s Emaar Malls Group to jointly set up Reel Cinemas, and have confirmed plans to open multiplexes in the Middle East, North Africa, India and Indonesia. Together the two companies will develop and manage cineplexes in some 150 malls across the Middle East, North Africa, the Indian Subcontinent and Indonesia.
Backed by Cathay, Reel Cinemas aim to create the ultimate movie experience and strive to be the leading international multiplex operator. It will be opening the largest cinema complex in Dubai at The Dubai Mall, one of the world’s largest shopping complex. Called a ‘megaplex’, the cinema will be Dubai’s largest, with 22 screens and a total of 3,000 seats, and will be opened later this year.
