Avid axes Xpress Pro1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteAvid‘s Xpress Pro editing software will cease any further major releases as of now, and further sale of the software will stop as of 30 June 2008.
This move came in conjuction with the announcement of Avid’s “New Thinking” campaign that promises better customer service and the streamlining of product lines.
Under the same campaign, Avid’s Media Composer software also enjoyed a hefty price cut, from its original US$4,995 (SGD$6,898) to just US$2,495 (SGD$3,446).
Anyone who has purchased their Media Composers at the old price from between 1 Jan 2008 till now are eligible to receive credit towards future purchases. Existing Xpress Pro customers can also upgrade to Media Composer for just USD$495 more. Find out what you get when you upgrade at the official website.
Students who are interested in owning the software can now purchase the Media Composer Academic software for just USD$295. Support for the Xpress Pro will continue until March 2013, with more information and an extensive knowledge base available at the revamped Avid Online Support user-interface.
