Reading Time: 2 minutes28 and 29 July, The Arts House Screening Room
From the juicy to the scary, the enchanting to the fearful, the line-up of this year’s films screened at Celebrate Drama will most definitely possess them.
Over 30 different shorts films, some of which are award-winning entries in film festivals abroad, will be screened on 28 and 29 July at The Arts House from 10am – 8pm on Saturday and 10am – 6pm on Sunday. A smorgasbord of genres from documentary, horror, comedy, romance and drama created by student and independent filmmakers and young filmmakers below 35.
For the first time, Celebrate Drama’s film category is curated by Chia Yeow Tong, festival director of Toronto Singapore Film Festival and Kelvin Sng, a prolific young filmmaker and educator. The collaboration of both Chia and Sng brings together one of the best collection of films to be screened at Celebrate Drama.
More… “Toronto Singapore Film Festival is very happy to partner with SDEA for this screening, to play our part to promote the arts in Singapore. This screening provides a good platform for youths and students to be exposed to local short films, and to allow the filmmakers to showcase their works to the youths.” – Chia Yeow Tong Festival Director Toronto Singapore Film Festival
Apart from the screening itself, there are two talk-back sessions with the creators of the films. These talks are essential to encourage not only and exchange of ideas among creators and audience but also a platform for interaction and understanding of the genre and process of film-making.
The best part of it all, everyone can enjoy the works with its Free Admission policy.
