Song of the Stork @ Cine.SG – National Museum1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minuteI don’t know that that many war movies have been made by a Singaporean filmmaker, but certainly one about the Vietnam-American War is a first. Made in 2003, Song of the Stork was also the first ever joint Vietnamese-Singaporean filmmaking effort and tells the story from the often overlooked Vietnamese point of view.
It takes on the story of five young Vietnamese men who join the army in 1968, and follows them up to 2000, which marked the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Saigon.
See the film at Cine.SG. As always, tickets are available in advance from TicketCharge or can be bought at the door.
